These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Best Bet Weather, the website at bestbetweather.com and all of its pages, data files and services (the "Site"). By accessing or using the Site in any way, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you are not authorized to use the Site.

1. Forecasts Are for General Information Only

Weather forecasts are estimates and can be wrong. All content on the Site is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE", for general informational purposes only, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, express or implied, including any warranty of accuracy, completeness, timeliness, availability, merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. Do not rely on the Site for decisions where safety, health or property are at stake. For watches, warnings and emergencies, always follow the official National Weather Service, your local authorities and emergency services.

2. No Affiliation

Best Bet Weather is independent. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by NOAA, the National Weather Service or any other data provider named on the Site. Forecasts shown on the Site are our own and are not official forecasts.

3. Permitted Use

We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable permission to view the Site in a standard web browser for your own personal, non-commercial use, and to share links to it. All other use requires our prior written permission.

4. Prohibited Use

You agree that you will not, and will not permit or help anyone else to:

• access, copy, scrape, crawl, harvest, index, download or extract any part of the Site, its forecasts or its data by any automated means, including bots, spiders, scripts, scrapers, headless browsers, offline readers or any similar tool, other than ordinary search-engine indexing;
• engage in data mining, bulk retrieval or systematic collection of the Site's content, or use the Site's content to build, train, test or improve any dataset, database, product, service or machine-learning or artificial-intelligence model;
• send requests at a volume or rate greater than a person could reasonably generate using a standard browser, or otherwise place an unreasonable or disproportionate load on the Site or on the services and infrastructure that host it;
• interfere with, disrupt or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site, its servers or its data, including by probing, scanning or testing for weaknesses, or by bypassing or disabling any security, rate limit, access control or usage limit;
• copy, frame, mirror, republish, redistribute, sell, license or otherwise commercially exploit the Site or its content, or present it as your own or as an official forecast;
• reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to derive the Site's methods, source code or forecast techniques, except to the extent the law expressly allows despite this restriction;
• use the Site for any unlawful, fraudulent or harmful purpose, or in violation of any applicable law or regulation, or of the terms of any data provider credited on the Site.

5. Responsibility for Misuse and Costs

The Site is run by an individual and relies on hosting with usage limits. If you use the Site in violation of Section 4, you are responsible for, and agree to pay, all resulting damages, losses, costs and expenses, including hosting, bandwidth, computing and data charges caused by your activity, the cost of investigating and stopping it, and reasonable attorneys' fees. You agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless Best Bet Weather and its owner from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses and expenses arising out of or related to your use of the Site in breach of these Terms or of any law. Unauthorized automated access may also violate computer-misuse laws, including the U.S. Computer Fraud and Abuse Act, and we reserve the right to pursue all remedies available at law or in equity.

6. Our Right to Protect the Site

We may monitor use of the Site for security and abuse, and may limit, block or suspend any access, address, network or user, at any time and without notice, if we believe it violates these Terms or threatens the Site, its availability or its costs. We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the Site at any time.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Best Bet Weather and its owner shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary or punitive damages, or any loss of property, data, profit or opportunity, arising out of or related to the use of, or inability to use, the Site or its information, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

8. Data Sources and Their Licences

The Site uses public data from the sources credited at the bottom of each page. That data remains subject to its providers' own terms and licences. Data from Open-Meteo, ECMWF open data and MET Norway are licensed under CC BY 4.0; NOAA and National Weather Service data are public information of the United States government. Nothing in these Terms restricts any right you have under those licences to the original data from its source.

9. Copyright and Ownership

The Site's design, layout, text, graphics, logo, the name "Best Bet Weather" and the Site's own forecasts, wording and presentation are © 2026 Best Bet Weather and protected by copyright and other laws. All rights not expressly granted in these Terms are reserved. Data from the credited providers belongs to them under their licences. Third-party software, fonts and icons used by the Site remain under their own licences.

10. Links to Other Sites

Links to other websites are provided for convenience only. We do not control and are not responsible for their content, terms or practices.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, and by applicable federal law. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our not enforcing a provision is not a waiver of it.

12. Changes

We may update these Terms at any time; the date at the top shows the latest version. Continued use of the Site after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
